Interview with a member of the Neta Morfa collective, one of the many groups fighting against the San Xavier mine, in the state of San Luis Potosi, central Mexico. Its an 11 year struggle against the Canadian based Multinational Metalclad LTD. and its illegal open cut syonide mine being constructed on communal lands. Its an uncannily similar situation to the Lake Cowal struggle in New South Wales. The mine hopes to exploit gold, silver and possible uranium at the huge cost of polluting a third of the capital city´s and surrounding communities water supply, extinction of rare and endangered species and destruction of the 500 year old history of the town of San Pedro and its symbolic mountain (which the mine will destroy) which appears on the state´s coat of arms.
